Motorist Driving Damaged Car Charged In Connection To Hit-Run Crash, Greenwich Police Say

A 25-year-old area man was busted for hitting two parked vehicles and them fleeing the scene.

Nicolas Corzo-Araoz, of Riverside, was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 25, after Greenwich Police officers were dispatched to Westcott Street on a report of a car that Corzo-Araoz was driving had left the scene of the crash, said Greenwich Police Lt. Robert Lombardo.

Police were about to find Corzo-Araoz at his home where he was seen by officers driving the vehicle which had heavy front end damage, Lombardo said.

After speaking with Corzo-Araoz, police said he appeared to have dilated pupils and delayed responses when talking. A field sobriety test was administered and he failed the test, police said. 

He was arrested and charged with DWI, evading responsibility and unsafe movement. 

He was released after post $250 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 9.
